Moisture kicking in from west and east to Tamil Nadu

Everyone following weather in Chennai would be aware that on Jan 23rd rains to return. Not flash rains like december. But what is interesting is the moisture kicking in from western side of Tamil Nadu.

Straight down in Indian Ocean there is a low pressure area persisting for past few days leading to cyclonic circulation and gathering huge amount of precipitation. We can see formation of clouds with water content around the low pressure. The Jet Streams picks up clouds on the outer ring on their way and enters India from west side in a north east direction. The same can be seen in the satellite image. This may not guarantee any heavy rain to south India, but for sure it brings in nice moisture to Kerala and western part of Tamil Nadu.

On the other side, Easterlies are filling up moisture in Bay of Bengal from eastern side. We can see them in the below image. Hence south India to get moisture kicking in from both sides and what they lead to will be known in coming days.
